Mind-Body Ritual #10: Pink Love Meditation

Pink Love Meditation

Mind-Body Ritual #10

Pink Love Meditation

Posture

Seated upright or lying face-up

Breathing

INHALE through the nose

EXHALE through the nose or mouth (can include a vocal release)

Intention

Release tension from face, neck, and chest. Relax into chest and heart-center.

"I let go of the self-judgment, self-fear, and the worries of tomorrow."

Practice

Close your eyes and bring your awareness to your forehead and temples.

Feel any tension that sits here and begin to release it:

First, try scrunching your eyebrows up and down or by opening your eyes big and wide then letting them gently close.

Next, move your eyes in long arcs all the way around your peripheral field of vision in a 360 degree view (move your eyes in a full circle).

Move your facial muscles, lips, and ears (if you can) to let go of tension.

Wiggle your jaw and relax your front neck muscles.

Gulp with your throat.

Roll your shoulders lightly in backward circles.

Tilt your head lightly side to side.

Slowly look up and down.

Then look to the left then up and to the right then up (diagonal neck extensions).

Next, breathe into your chest and shoulders.

With each breath, let your shoulders get heavier and heavier.

Focus on releasing long, exaggerated exhales as the tension "washes" down the front of your face, neck, shoulders and chest.

Continue to release tension in all these ways until it feels integrated and settled.

Feel the grounding magnetism of your heart-center and stay in this state of Being for as long as you can.

*Advanced Practice:

Once you have wiggled out all the tension and feel a change in your baseline state, you have the option to take this practice one step further. If it feels appropriate, follow these next instructions.

Declaration: "I let go of the self-judgment, self-fear, and the worries of tomorrow."

Visualize/Feel: A stream of cooling water running up the back of your neck, cooling the base of your skull

Take three deep breaths

Declaration: "I let go of the self-judgment, self-fear, and the worries of tomorrow." (1-3 times)

Visualize/Feel: A Pink-Light waterfall rise up and drop over the peak of your head, washing down over your face and front neck.

Take twelve deep breaths

Allow the energy to drop down through your collar bones

Declaration: "I let go of the self-judgment, self-fear, and the worries of tomorrow." (1-3 times)

Visualize/Feel: Your shoulders soften as a Pink-Light pool of cooling water begins to well in your chest

Take three deep breaths

Visualize/Feel: The grounding magnetism of your heart-center and stay in this state of Pink Unconditional Love for as long as you can

This is the perfect practice following particularly challenging days. When the Self gets caught in the mind, it can be hard to settle back into the heart. We can always breathe and allow our energy to drop down from our head and into the heart-center.
