Mind-Body Ritual: Eye Diagonal Movements

Eye Diagonal Movements - Brain Activation

Position

Seated or lying on belly looking up

Breathing

INHALE through the nose

EXHALE through the mouth

Intention

Activate higher levels of the brain. Engage Cortex. Expansion.

Practice: Eye Movements Only

Begin with eye movements only:

Look: Up and to Left

Then: Down and to Right

Repeat 3, 6 or 12x

Now, look: Up and to Right

Then: Down and to Left

Repeat 3, 6 or 12x

Practice: With Neck Following

Now repeat the same movements but with your neck following:

Look and move: Up and to Left

Then: Down and to Right

Repeat 3, 6 or 12x

Look and move: Up and to Right

Then: Down and to Left

Repeat 3, 6 or 12x

Continue to practice these eye movements accompanied with the spine following. You can relax the shoulders and open the chest to allow the upper thoracic spine to bend and twist to follow this motion.

Benefits & Understanding

This is an excellent practice to utilize in creating increased Awareness.

As feedback from the pons (brainstem) goes to the cerebellum (movement coordination), underused nerve pathways are activated.

Here, the eye muscles are being used to equip the rest of our neurology for expansion.
